Review: The Gambler by Lily Graison

The Gambler (Willow Creek #3)
by Lily Graison

Blurb by Goodreads

Emmaline Hunt only had one thing she could call her own. A piece of land that held a secret not even her drunken stepfather knew about. When he gambles it away in a high stakes poker game, Emmaline does the only thing she can. She tries to steal the land deed back.

Tristan Avery has seen his share of bloodshed while sitting at a gaming table and knows its time to lay low when he wins a wad of cash and a piece of land. Especially after his opponent ends up dead at his feet. High tailing it out of town is his only option but things take a drastic turn when he finds a woman in his hotel room trying to rob him blind.

The botched robbery attempt is only the start of his troubles when Tristan finds his new land occupied by the same girl who tried to rob him. When he realizes he’s left her homeless, and killed her stepfather, his conscience forces him to do the right thing. Taking her to his hometown and setting her up with a new life will make up for all he’s taken from her.

But Emmaline has other plans. She wants her land, and Tristan’s money, and she’ll do whatever it takes to get them. All she has to do is convince him she’s there to stay, outwit him, find a way back home and not let a single soul know she has a gold mine bursting at the seems with untapped wealth.

I seem to always fall in love with Lily Graison characters from their first meeting.

“You’re a girl?”

“I’m a woman, thank you very much.” She straightened her shirt and met his gaze. “And I’d be obliged if you’d get that gun out of my face.”

Tristan won a deed in a poker game. Later on while defending himself he ends up killing the owner of the deed. When he goes to check out the land he won he finds Emmaline in a beat up shack and was the one who tried robbing him of the deed in his hotel. He soon learns that was her step dad he killed and all she has left his the beat up shack and the land. He can not bare to kick her out and not let her live the way she is living in a run down shack with no protection since he killed her step dad. Her feistiness intrigues him and is finding it hard to keep is hands off her. While he tries to figure out what to do with her, he comes up with a plan to take her back to his hometown and find her a husband. He has been gone too long and find it would also be good for him to go home.

Loved Tristan as he is arrogant, bossy with a alpha male attitude but also has a sweet side to him. I loved how he truly believes he is trying to find her a husband but really deep down inside he can not bare to part with her. He is not the marrying type and knows she can find some one better.

Loved Emmaline’s character as she has a backbone and will do what ever it takes to keep her land. It is all she has left and of course she has a secret containing her land that Tristan can never know about.

It was a treat when finally all the Avery brothers are together back home. Loved seeing how Abigail, Morgan, Sarah, and Colt are doing. Holden’s book is next in The Rancher (The Willow Creeks #4). Look forward to seeing how he will finally get his HEA.

ARC review: Lush by Lauren Dane

Mary Whaley has her hands full running a successful catering company and overseeing her supper club. She's got everything she ever wanted--or so she thought. When she meets ridiculously hot and very dirty rock star Damien Hurley at her friend's engagement party, the attraction she feels is overpowering--and she isn't about to deny herself.

Damien is used to a hard and fast life. He and two of his brothers started a band when they were all in high school--then they hit the big time and stayed there. He's also a legendary madman on the stage and in the bedroom. But when he meets Mary, something clicks, and the bad boy starts thinking he may have finally found something good.

What begins as a series of fleeting trysts soon get much more complicated. Damien can't figure out why Mary doesn't want more from him. And before long it's Damien who wants more of Mary. But it turns out Mary is no stranger to the celebrity news and he's got a very big job ahead of him--proving that he's worth more than a one-night stand...

What I love most about Lauren Dane novels a side from the hottest sexual tension that leaves you hot and bothered, the scorching sex that is erotic and well written, is that she has characters that deal with real life issues that some one can relate to with having gone through it themselves. It is not always the main characters with issues, but sometimes it is the secondary characters. When it is the secondary characters with issues, it is their faults that effects the main characters that one can relate to.
Damien is your sexy tattoo-nipple pierced-dirty talking rock star hero who knows how to please a woman in the bedroom. He is use to woman who only want him for his money, rock star status and would give up anything to follow him. Mary is not like that all. She does not want him for his money or rock star status and will not follow him anywhere. She is into her career, does not want a relationship, but is all for friends with benefits with Damien. I loved how he did not push her into a relationship and took their friends with benefits status at her pace. He was sweet and thought of her likes. Instead of buying jewelry he bought her spices that he knew she would love to use. I loved Mary and not once did she try to play games with Damien she told him up front how she was. Loved how she was sexy and not shy in the bedroom.
Lush is book 3 in the Delicious series and I was not lost at all since I have not read the others. It will just make you want to go and read the others in the series to see how they all got their HEA.

Lush (Delicious #3)

Tattoos covered his skin and she noted one of his nipples was pierced as well. She'd investigate in detail. After. She nearly fell over when he breathed against her labia. Hot. So hot it sent shivers through her has she grabbed his shoulder to keep from dissolving into a puddle on the floor. Then he picked her up like she was nothing, turning her to place her on the edge of the bed.

"This way I can still be on my knees when I eat this pretty, pretty pussy,."

Liked she'd complain.

He turn his head to lick the side of her knee, wrenching a gasp from her lips. Then, just behind, which made her hot and wet, aching. Until that moment she hadn't even really known it was one of her sweet spots. Not many men paid any attention to that spot, but damn, he did. Thank god for it. Kisses up the inside of her. The barest contact against her pussy and then kisses and licks down the inside of her other thigh until he got to the other knee.

Who does not love a Tattoo-nipple pierced-dirty talking hero who knows how to play in the bedroom.

Romancing The Bookworm

Release Date: July 9, 2013

Blurb by Goodreads

Sometimes, even the best-laid plans can unravel.

It's spring break, and Tamara Winters would rather stay on campus and read romance novels than flaunt her size-fourteen body on a beach. But her best friend, Ronni, has other ideas. Against her wishes, Tamara is whisked away to picturesque Maverick Bay, where she's wrangled into waiting tables with Ronni at the Shore Shack for its busy week leading to Maverick's Surf Invitational. There she meets fellow schoolmate Xavier Solomon, the Invitational's organizer and campus womanizer by reputation. From the moment Tamara sees him emerging from the waves like a hero in of one of her romance novels, all she wants to do is run away from the feelings he inspires in her.

Little does she know Xavier has been watching her for weeks now. In fact, after failed attempts at asking her out on campus, he's concocted a crazy plan: fabricating romantic situations straight out of her favorite books. Xavier quickly realizes that if Tamara gets a whiff of his designs, he might as well spell CREEPER across his forehead. Yet as they grow closer, he's convinced it's a risk worth taking. What he hasn't planned on, of course, is his drug-addicted, alcoholic stepbrother, who decides to join the fun and put a wrench in Xavier’s scheme.

Spring break is proving hotter than Tamara expected. Will her romance novels be able to compete?

Why:
I am a huge fan of Kate Evangelista writing voice and story telling. I could not wait for the cover of her New Adult novel to showcase on my Fallen For Covers. Soothing cover and fits perfect with the plot and name.

Jase Kayrs was the fun brother. The warm, charming, easy-going brother of the vampire leaders. Until he was taken and tortured by demons with their evil mind tricks for nearly five years. Upon his return, he’s dark, violent, and not the man they all thought they knew. Not the man he once was. He’s haunted that the only reason the demons would have let him live was to use him as a weapon against his family—but he can’t figure out when or how he’ll explode. Plus, once again the demons are after Jase with a vengeance…or rather, a female demon he rejected is out to destroy him.

Then the king asks Jase for a favor…a big one. To mate with one of their allies in order to save her. She’s everything that’s good and light in the world…while he’s at home with darkness. Yet he agrees…knowing mating may be the only chance to save them both.

Why:
You all know I am a huge Rebecca Zanetti fan and loving Dark Protector series. Loving Jase's cover for Shadowed. Her covers are sexy with a shirtless hero and loving the purple. Bummed it does not come out till October but no worries at least I have her other new novels Under the Covers (Maverick Montana #2),  Forgotten Sins (Sins Brothers #1) to read and get my Zanetti fix for a few months.

Amanda Martin has the worst taste in men. After being cheated on not once, but twice, she’s lost all faith in men … and in herself. Determined to regain her confidence, Amanda decides to have a one-night stand. No relationship, no promises, no threat of being hurt again … just sex. What she doesn’t anticipate is meeting a handsome-as-sin stranger who will give her pleasure unlike any she’s ever known.

Joe Sterling has spent his life avoiding relationships, his former job as a military sniper not allowing for such commitments. Now he’s come home to Texas, to let go of the past and to prove he is more than the killer he’s been trained to be.

When Amanda’s life is threatened, Joe’s killer instinct is tested while Amanda struggles to protect her heart. Will they succumb to their overwhelming desire for each other, or lose it all by letting the past dictate their future?

Sexy Snippet:

He Chuckled. "There are so many things I want to do to you right now, Mandy. But first, I'm going to taste you." He traced the line of her lips with his tongue. The smoky flavor of whiskey mixed with a hint of molasses went straight to his head. "Your mouth taste so good. I wonder, does your pussy taste as sweet?" He didn't give her time to answer. "I bet it does." He pressed his mouth to her ear. "I'm going to fuck you with my tongue and fingers until you're crazy with need." He grabbed the edges of her panties and moved them as he worked them down her legs. "Then I'm going to bury my cock deep in your sweet pussy until you scream my name."

YA Review: Pure by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Pure (Covenant #2)
by Jennifer L. Armentrout
Purchase Links: Amazon  Barnes & Noble

Blurb by Goodreads

There is need. And then there is Fate...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn’t exactly awesome—especially when Alexandria’s "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth’s in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom—so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do—and sacrifice—for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies—lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn’t blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

Team Seth Fans you will not want to miss Pure. Seth in Half-Blood caught my curiosity. Pure started off great and was enjoying Seth’s character. He is very over protective but at the same time showed a gentle, sweet and caring side. But at some point he started to annoy me. He had a smart mouth before and loved that about him but at times in Pure he became obnoxious and his lines were a bit cheesy for me. There are a lot of swoon moments for Seth Fans and if not a Seth Fan before might become one now. As for me I do not know if I like his character or not.

Pure for me lacked the bickering between Aiden, Alex and Seth. There were a few good moments when they go head to head but nothing like Half-Blood. I felt it was too much Seth and not enough Aiden. I really wanted a good mixture of the two. I was annoyed many times when I thought Aiden and Alex would get some book time but nope Seth always seems to pop up and ruin it.

There was a bad incident that happens that broke my heart. It was a sad moment I did not see coming. The Council part of the novel for me was drawn out and I got bored easy. It was a lot of politics that I did not mind but wish it was cut back just a little.

Alex once again has gotten herself in a mess towards the end. Aiden does something unthinkable that I loved and showed how much he does care for Alex. What he does makes him more swoon worthy than before. I look forward to see how this all plays out in Deity (Covenant #3).

Love it when the hero loses all control and is a dirty talker. Loving the Undeniable series with  sexy bikers that will push your buttons. Not a series for the faint of heart.

Unbeautifully (Undeniable #2)
by Madeline Sheehan

"Fuck," he kept muttering, in between kisses that were growing more and more frantic. "Fuck, Danny, fuck...I'm gonna fuck you so hard...you're gonna scream baby.

He pulled me out of the lake and we tumbled to the ground in heap of tangled limbs, his body pressed against mine, grinding his erection into my stomach. Reflexively, I grabbed a fistfuls of his hard biceps as a tidal wave of need rushed through me.

"I want that pussy, baby." he growled hoarsely, sucking body. "Gimme that beautiful fuckin' pussy."

Kristen Callihan has a beautiful writing voice that sucks you into the amazing world she has built with great characters. Love all the covers in The Darkest London series as they are all beautiful and eye catching
Winterblaze starts off with a lot of angst between Poppy and Winston. He is left broken after a terrible incident in Moonglow and felt betrayed by a secret that Poppy has been hiding. But he also has a huge secret of his own and it comes to bite him in the butt when he really does not need it to come out. His marriage is already in turnmoil and having this secret that he kept from Poppy is the worse. Loved the twist towards the end with Jack and the epilogue. Look forward to his story in Shadow dance (Darkest London #4) due out Dec. 17, 2013.

Yet her new-found freedom is short lived. A string of unexplained murders has brought danger to Daisy's door, forcing her to turn to the most unlikely of saviors . . .

Their growing passion knows no bounds . . .Ian Ranulf, the Marquis of Northrup, has spent lifetimes hiding his primal nature from London society. But now a vicious killer threatens to expose his secrets. Ian must step out of the shadows and protect the beautiful, fearless Daisy, who awakens in him desires he thought long dead. As their quest to unmask the villain draws them closer together, Daisy has no choice but to reveal her own startling secret, and Ian must face the undeniable truth: Losing his heart to Daisy may be the only way to save his soul.

Moonglow did not WOW me like Firelight did. I enjoyed Ian in Firelight with his smart remarks towards Archer. His smart mouth was not always there in Moonglow. I was not always feeling a connection with Daisy and Ian. There was a few sexual tension moments and the sex scenes were hot that I enjoyed. I loved when Ian got a bit jealous with Lucian. Love when the sisters were together discussing their powers and Daisy elemental is earth but calls it dirt. Even though it did not wow me like the first novel I will still continue with the series.

For baseball superstar Garrett Donovan, his contract with the New York Empire baseball team meant he’d finally have the means to secure a future for his family. He should focus on that…not on the sassy, beautiful Jessa Montgomery — or what she looks like naked. Getting involved with the daughter of the Empire’s owner would be career suicide. Jessa is a distraction he can’t afford.

Her father had warned her never to get involved with his athletes, so his request that she keep an eye on his new star player came straight out of left field. The last thing Jessa needs is another spoiled, egotistical ball player to deal with. But Garrett is none of those things. His no-nonsense attitude and smooth Southern charm make her blood burn and her knees weak. Giving into temptation, she is consumed by the pleasure she finds in Garrett’s arms.

Jessa wants to protect his career. Garrett won’t let anything get in the way of their passion.

A passion that could cost him everything.

Why:
Loving the shirtless hero blended in with the baseball stadium. I instantly became a fan of Parker Kincade's beautiful writing voice, amazing story telling, sexy alpha male heroes who are yummy in the bedroom in her debut novel One Night Stand (Martin Family #1) which is 5 stars. Excited she has a new series  out Spring Training (Game On #1). Yay baby already got my copy!
