Top Ten Things I Am Thankful For (could be bookish or not -- up to you)- My top ten will be books I am Thankful I read. Can not take credit for this idea, stalking Addicted To Romance and thought what a fun way to share my thankful reads.

1.

Lora Leigh was many first reads in different genre's for me. I was in a huge Paranormal faze when I first read Lora Leigh so I read Megan's Mark (Breeds #7) first. Instantly fell in love with her Alpha Male heroes that I had to have more novels with Alpha Male heroes and more from her. Dangerous Games (Tempting SEALs #2)   was my first seals (anything military). And Wicked Pleasure (Bound Hearts 9) was my first Erotic Romance and Menage.  Nothing like starting your first erotic romance with Menage.  Happy most of my first were with Lora Leigh as she has opened up to so much of my reading in different genres. She is 100% to blame for my crazed-of-need-to-have-an-Alpha Male hero in my novels.

2.

Reaper's Property (Reapers MC)  and Undeniable (Undeniable #1) will forever ruin every other MC novels out there for me.  This is how I like my MC novels Raw, Gritty and pushes my boundaries that are well written. I did read The Dream Man series first by Kristen Ashley and fell hard for Tack from the beginning and got me wanting more heroes in MC and loved his novel  Motorcycle Man (Dream Man #4)  and the spin off his novel Chaos is a light version compare to Reapers MC and Undeniable series.

3.

My Man, Michael (SBC Fighters #4) was the first book that introduce me to Lori Foster and a SBC fighter hero. I instantly fell in love with her Alpha Male heroes and her writing style.  Lori Foster to date is one of my favorite authors. Now one of my favorite heroes are SBC and MMA Fighters.

4.

Huge fan of Nalini Singh and will read anything she writes. It was Angels' Blood (Guild Hunter #1) that got me hooked on Archangel or Angel heroes. But to date nothing compares to her alpha male hero archangel Raphael.

5.

Dark Lover (Black Dagger Brotherhood #1)  not only did I love J.R. Wards alpha male heroes in Dark Lover but I loved the bickering between them, that I like to call as boys club. I find in novels I read with secondary characters I like having the boys club theme. It seems to add so much to the story. But will admit I still have yet to get past reading Lover Avenged (Black Dagger Brotherhood #7) . Some day I will pick back up with this series.

6.

Instantly became a fan of Rebecca Zanetti after reading Fated (Dark Protectors #1). She writes sexy Alpha Male heroes and has the boys club theme going on. Her heroes remind me of Lora Leigh Alpha Males where they have no problems killing for their loved ones and boys club theme like J.R. Wards BDB novels where the bickering adds so much to the story and never know what will come out of their mouths. I will read anything by Rebecca Zanetti. Happy she has come out with a Contemporary Romance series and Romantic Suspense

7.

Cowgirl Up and Ride (Rough Riders #3)  was not only my first Lorelei James novel but first sexy cowboy read. Cord McKay is my first sexy alpha male cowboy and will always have a special place in my heart. Instantly became a fan of Lorelei James.

8.

Never Seduce a Scot (The Montgomerys and Armstrongs #1) is not my first Maya Banks read. Already was a huge fan of hers but it is my first rememberable read with a sexy highlander alpha male hero. Monica McCarty is now one of my favorite authors after reading The Recruit (Highland Guard #6). After reading these two I want more Sexy-Alpha Male-Highlanders.

9.

FREE!!! Do Not know for how long, get your copy now. Amazon  Barnes & Noble  Kobo  Smashwords

Club Shadowlands (Masters of the Shadowlands #1)  my first Cherise Sinclair read and instantly became a fan of her sexy Dom's and her writing style. Love this series and she has found a spot on my one of my Top Favorite authors.

10.
New Adult

Fallen Too Far (Too Far Trilogy #1) was my first Abbi Glines read and I believe was my second NA read. I remember after reading it I had to have more of her novels ASAP and wanted more of New Adult.

Well I went over but had to add two more to my list.

11.

Captive in the Dark (The Dark Duet #1) was my second dubious consent and first read by C.J. Roberts. After reading this Dark novel I want more Caleb and more reads like this. So far C.J. Roberts is my favorite. Never thought I would be into dubious consent or fall in love with a hero like Caleb. Thankful I gave this genre a go and look forward to more.

12.

The beginning this year found a new read, One Night Stand (The Martin Family #1)   and instantly became a new fan of Parker Kincade. She sucked me right in with her lovely writing voice, wickedly delicious couple, yummy alpha males, boys club theme. She is now one of my top favorite author. Thankful I found a new series and author I get excited for future reads.

Quote-Tastic: Dangerous Games by Lora Leigh

Quote-Tastic is a meme hold on Mondays by Herding Casts & Burning Soup.  Join them  every Monday and share a favorite quote that's grabbed ya for one reason or another.

Clint and Morganna are one of my favorite book couples. He is sexy with his Alpha Male attitude and she knows how to deal with him.

"Do you like those pants, Morganna? Would I be wearing them otherwise? Finish putting them on and I'm going to cut them off you later, I'd hate to have to ruin a good pair of jeans. I'd hate to have to hurt you, Clint."

Synopsis

by Lora Leigh

New York Times bestselling author, Lora Leigh’s sexy Navy SEALs series, the Tempting SEALs, is red-hot, sexy romantic suspense at its best, featuring men who will stop at nothing to protect their country and all they love no matter how dark the danger, no matter what demons they must face. And when these men love, their passion runs deep and hard.

Navy SEAL Clint" Iceman" McIntire earned his name by being the ultimate warrior. He’s untouchable, unstoppable and he takes no prisoners. Having crushed an infamous drug cartel in Columbia, Clint was nothing short of an American hero. Now, it’s up to Clint to keep this beautiful, determined agent out of harm’s way, even while the explosive passion between them threatens to consume them both. Excerpt

I awoke with a start; my wrists were painfully sore. Then I remembered. I felt a smile play on my lips as my fingers massaged the tender flesh on one wrist, soothing the skin that had been chaffed by the handcuffs My ankles had been bound together tightly with leather straps which in my mind had been worse but I'd understood the necessity of it. Easton had been about inflicting pain last night, not pleasure. Well that's not altogether true; the pain had brought me pleasure not that he'd intended it to but it had nonetheless.

I snuggled back against him, feeling his arms tighten protectively around me. He was stirring and I knew he hadn't slept well last night. He'd tossed and turned, repositioning himself a half dozen times around me asking me if I was okay. I knew he'd been apprehensive about how I'd react to my punishment; concerned that he'd crossed the line with me or maybe with himself, but I'd leapt across that line, hands and feet bound tightly together into his world of discipline and respect and I understood the rules now; I comprehended this man.

I rolled over to face him, looking up into his smoldering gray eyes that were studying me intently. Was he concerned I'd flee from his bed? Not a chance. I was still naked beneath his sheets. I could still feel his cum dripping from me. My God! We'd fucked most of the night - after the punishment had been dispensed with that is. I'd never been with a man that had a sexual appetite comparable to Easton's. It was as if he'd been on a mission to bury himself in me, and despite my reddened behind and sore wrists and ankles, I hadn't wanted him to stop.

He lowered his mouth to mine, kissing my lips softly.

"Morning, love," he murmured, his voice rough with early morning. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine, Easton. Stop asking me that," I whispered against his lips. "I want more."

"Don't say that," he snarled, immediately disengaging himself from me and sitting up. He raked his hands through his fuck-tousled hair.

I frowned, perching myself up on one arm, my fingers reaching out to touch his sinewy muscled back.  "What is it?" I asked, frowning.

He stood up, distancing himself from me, not bothering to hide his agitation. "For Chrissake you can't possibly think what happened last night can ever happen again. I won't let it," he snapped. "It's not what I want with you."

"Okay, I'm totally not following you here; I kind of thought it rocked."

He took two steps towards me, his eyes flashing. "That speaks of your needs, not of mine; at least not anymore - not with you."

"I was pissed. Damn pissed! I'd been quite the trooper and was fucking proud of it, Now he was telling me what? That I sucked at being punished?

"You're being an ass," I snapped, hoping to get his ire up, along with anything else on him that cared to rise to the occasion.

"I am an ass," he spat, "You should've figured that out a long time ago. I don't want to be an ass - not with you at any rate. You didn't deserve the things I did to you last night."

"Which things?" I asked.
He was silent.

The flogging?" I taunted. "The thin leather straps with the metal tips you flailed across my back and butt. Your aim was perfect, by the way."

I saw his quick intake of breath as my words hit home. He turned towards the bathroom to put more distance between us.

"Or the bondage?" I persisted, cockily, trying to draw him back. He stopped and turned towards me, his face masked with shame. "The titanium steel handcuffs attached to my wrists, and the leather binds for my ankles making me unable to move while you fucked me raw."

"Any of it," he replied.

"Who deserved it, Easton?"

"All of them - apart from you. All of the whores I've been with; the ones I've punished in that way. Do you need names?"

"Only one," I replied, watching him with interest.

"Bianca," he snarled, his eyes flashing with fury. "It’s how I wanted to fuck Bianca, the traitorous bitch. It's how I thought I wanted to fuck you until I realized . . ." he broke off mid-sentence, agitation once again settling in as he dealt with his own confusion.

"Realized what?"

"Nothing," he muttered, going into the bathroom and slamming the door behind him, leaving me to guess how he might've finished that sentence.

In Loving Memory... Monroe Oct. 23, 2013 - Nov. 1, 2013

Some of you may have notice I have been MIA the last 2 weeks. On Nov. 1st received a call that my 10 day old great niece passed away from SIDS (Sudden infant death syndrome). Been out of town for the funeral and with my family. As I am sure you all understand during a tragic time was not in the mood to blog. I was able to get a little break from family and posted one review. I am reading like many books right now and the last few weeks. Can not seem to focus on one novel. I am now back home and still feel a little out of it. Have not seen my hubby, son and daughter-n-law so want to spend some time with them.  Just a heads up I might be back blogging in a few days or a few weeks. At this moment I do not know when I will post reviews or visit other blogs. Will play it day by day.

In Loving Memory
Monroe
Oct. 23, 2013 - Nov. 1, 2013

She was so small,
so beautiful,
so full of hope and promise.
What a blessing she has been
to all of us who knew her for this very short period. She taught us to love,
to hope beyond expectation,
to trust in that which is unseen.
She drew us together
in our anxiety,
our moments of despairing and hopelessness,...
as well as in our joys and delight,
and in her every breath.
Her life ended prematurely;
just so had she been born.
Too soon she died.
We wept.
The tears continue.
We hugged
and held one another.
The pain will always linger.
Our hearts emptier
for her absence
and the unfulfilled dreams
she promised.
But the love she brought
into our lives will live forever.
Thank you for giving her to us.
Thank you for the blessing
that she will always be.
Thank you for the love we
would never have known,
but for her
and her brief days with us.
Thank you for Monroe, our blessed child of grace.
Amen.

ARC Review NA: Welcome To Sugartown by Carmen Jenner

Welcome to Sugartown (Sugartown, #1)

Welcome to Sugartown (Sugartown #1)
by Carmen Jenner
Purchase Links: Amazon   Barnes & Noble

Blurb by Goodreads

Ana Belle never wanted anything more than to hang up her apron, jump on her Vespa and ride off into the sunset, leaving Sugartown in the dust.

Elijah Cade never wanted anything more than a hot meal, a side of hot arse and a soft place to lay his head at night where he could forget about his past.

But you know what they say about wanting: you always want what you can’t have.

Nineteen year-old virgin Ana is about to discover that’s not quite true because a six foot three, hotter than hell, tattooed, Aussie sex god just rode into town. He’s had a taste of her pie and he wants more–no really, Ana bakes pies for a living, get your mind out of the gutter.

She’d be willing to hand over everything tied up in a big red bow, there’s just one problem; Elijah has secrets dirtier than last week’s underwear. Secrets that won't just break Ana’s heart, but put her life at risk, too. When those secrets come to light, their relationship is pushed to breaking point.

Add to that a psychotic nympho best friend, an overbearing father, a cuter than humanly possible kid brother, a wanton womanizing cousin, the ex from hell, and more pies than you could poke a ... err ... stick ... at.

And you thought small towns were boring.

Welcome to Sugartown.

*Content Warning. Intended for a mature 18+ audience. Contains explicit sex, oodles of profanity and a crap-tonne of AWKWARD.

Welcome to Sugartown starts off light, fun with some giggle moments but then turns into a dark read with rape and cheating. This will be one of those novels you either love it or hate it. As for me I loved it. Not many authors would be able to pull this off  but Carmen Jenner did a well around great job. She has her own unique writing voice that was easy to get caught up into. The dual POV between Ana and Elijah flowed nicely between the scenes where needed.

Right from the start Ana and Elijah have chemistry and I was right there with Ana falling for the tattoo-biker riding-bad boy. Elijah and I did have a love/hate relationship through out the novel. By the end of their journey I was in love with his character all over again. What I loved most about his character is the great lengths he will go through to protect and get revenge for the girl he loves. Carmen Jenner knows how to write a yummy alpha male hero that is all about actions and not meaningless  words.

Ana is a spitfire that can hold her own with her over protective father and Elijah. She is a virgin but was just as sexy in the bedroom department as Elijah was. Wish I had Elijah whispering naughty words in my ear from his dirty talking mouth during those yummy steamy-cold-shower- needed moments.

The secondary characters added so much to the novel. I absolutely loved her father. He was tough and had no problems letting Elijah know what would happen if he broke his little girls heart. Holly her best friend was a bit on the out of control, crazy side and did love their times together as there is never a dull moment with them.  As for Jackson, Ana's cousin who is also a yummy alpha male hero, would like to know more about him. Curious what is going on through his sexy little head when it comes to Holly.

There is no cliffhanger or epilogue so do not know where this series is going but I am hoping Jackson and Holly have their own story next. If not, I do not mind having more Ana and Elijah as well. Welcome To Sugartown is a good start to a great series.
